The American Dental Association first sponsored National Children's Dental Health Month in February of 1949. Since then, the ADA has continued to sponsor National Children's Dental Health Month in an effort to continue to raise awareness about the importance of good oral health. Children's Dental Health Month focuses on the development of good oral hygiene habits, such as regular brushing and dental visits, at a young age.
